Fair2Adapt General Assembly in Vienna, 23-25 March 2026

On 23-25 March 2026, the FAIR2Adapt consortium gathered at the Impact Hub Vienna for its second in-person General Assembly, bringing partners together for intensive technical discussions, demonstrations and collaboration. The meeting marked an important step into the project’s second year, with partners aligning the different components of the FAIRification framework and agreeing how services such as ROHub, Pythia, I-ADOPT, AI-powered enrichment services and the TIB Knowledge Loom can work together to transform climate adaptation resources into FAIR Digital Objects that are easier to discover, understand and reuse. 

A major focus of the meeting was connecting technical development with the real needs of FAIR2Adapt’s six climate change adaptation case studies. Partners reviewed user stories, discussed the services needed to address them and identified priorities for the next stage of implementation. On the second day, the project opened its doors to external stakeholders and presented four FAIR Solution Demonstrators, with the case study teams themselves showing how FAIR approaches can turn complex and fragmented climate information into practical, accessible knowledge for researchers, practitioners and decision-makers. 

The Vienna meeting also strengthened cooperation beyond the FAIR2Adapt consortium. A joint session with the sister project Climate-Adapt4EOSC and the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change’s Climate Services Technical Working Group explored common FAIR Supporting Resources, interoperability and opportunities to test both projects’ FAIRification approaches across case studies. The partners agreed to explore common RO-Crate profiles, exchange complementary tools and develop further transfer cases, helping to build a more connected European ecosystem for FAIR and actionable climate adaptation knowledge. 

Plan4All contributes to this effort by working with other FAIR2Adapt partners to make climate change adaptation knowledge easier to publish, explore and share through customizable, user-friendly dashboards. These dashboards will present data and insights in ways tailored to the needs of different stakeholder groups, helping bridge the gap between FAIR digital resources and their practical use. Plan4All representatives actively contributed to the Day 2 technical discussions with Case Studies 3, 4 and 6, supporting the development of solutions that connect FAIRified knowledge with accessible visualization and decision-support tools.
