Call for Papers: GeoAI and Geospatial Technologies for Sustainable Development

We invite researchers, practitioners, and innovators to contribute to a new Special Issue in the journal Sustainability focused on the role of geospatial technologies, GeoAI, and advanced spatial analysis in supporting sustainable development.

This Special Issue explores how Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, and artificial intelligence can drive progress toward more sustainable, resilient, and data-informed societies.

About the Special Issue

Achieving the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development requires advanced tools capable of analyzing complex environmental, social, and economic systems. Geospatial technologies, combined with AI, play a crucial role across all stages of sustainable development, from data collection and analysis to policy design and implementation.

This Special Issue highlights the growing importance of GeoAI and geospatial modelling as enablers of new knowledge, improved decision-making, and cross-sector innovation. These approaches are increasingly applied in fields such as environmental management, urban planning, agriculture, and socio-economic analysis.
