The Bari DataBio IoT for Agriculture INSPIRE Hackathon 2019 was held at the Agrilevante Fair, Padiglione 20, Fiera di Bari (Bari Fair District), Italy. This event was part of the INSPIRE Hackathon series and focused on promoting the reuse of DataBio tools and the application of IoT technologies in agriculture.

🎯 Objectives

The hackathon aimed to support the utilisation of DataBio tools and foster innovation in the following areas:

  1. Applications for Telemetry: Integrating various telemetry units with Farm Management Information Systems (FMIS) to enhance the effective management of farm machinery.

  2. Applications Based on the ISOBUS Protocol: Exploring the use of ISOXML for communication between machinery and implements, and its application in precision farming systems.

  3. Remote Sensing Technologies: Utilising remote sensing technologies to prepare recommendations for fertiliser application across different crop types.

  4. IoT Applied to Machinery: Implementing IoT technologies for real-time crop monitoring and measuring meteorological data directly from agricultural machinery.
