Antwerp INSPIRE Hackathon 2018

The INSPIRE Hackathon 2018 was held from 18 to 21 September 2018 in Antwerp, Belgium, as part of the INSPIRE Conference. The event focused on integrating INSPIRE, GEOSS, and Copernicus data with other domains using web APIs to create value-added applications.
🎯 Objectives
- Facilitate the integration of geospatial data across various domains.
- Promote collaboration among stakeholders to develop innovative solutions.
- Encourage the use of open data and APIs in application development.

The hackathon featured multiple teams working on diverse projects:
- Team 1: Open Land Use and its metadata in RDF.
- Team 2: Application to plan a trip to the seaside based on data from Copernicus.
- Team 3: Improving Open Land Use Map by using Satellite Data.
- Team 5: Extension of Smart Points of Interest.
- Team 6: Sensor Data Streamed as RDF on the Fly.
- Team 7: LPIS RDF Integration.
- Team 8: SPOI Data Enrichment.
- Team 9: SeWa – Sentinel Watcher.
- Team 10: Location intelligence from multi-variate spatial analysis.
- Team 11: Expanding Open Land Use Map by Terrain Characteristics.
- Team 12: Delimiting of agro-climatic zones.
- Team 13: Arctic Geodata and Fishery Statistics.
- Team 14: Analytical Map of Incidents Registered by the Municipal Police in Plzeň, Czechia.
- Team 15: API for Analysis and Prediction of Fuel consumption.
- Team 16: GUF API.
🏆 Results
The jury awarded the following teams:
- 1st Place: Team 12 – Delimiting of agro-climatic zones.
- 2nd Place: Team 13 – Arctic Geodata and Fishery Statistics.
- 3rd Place: Team 10 – Location intelligence from multi-variate spatial analysis.
- Special Prize on Security (1000 EUR): Team 14 – Analytical Map of Incidents Registered by the Municipal Police in Plzeň, Czechia.
