Plan4all and it’s members showcase cutting-edge digital innovations at Synergy Days 2024

Plan4all, one of the key partners in the PoliRuralPlus project, played an important role at  Synergy Days 2024 in Barcelona. This event marked a significant gathering for digital innovators in the agri-food sector, with a focus on fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange across Europe. With over 550 participants and 39 projects represented, including PoliRuralPlus, ALIANCE and COMUNIDAD, the event provided a platform for discussions on the rapid digital transformation in agriculture. Key topics included the adoption of AI, data sharing, and overcoming challenges such as poor internet access in rural areas.

Plan4all as the umbrella organization for innovation

At Synergy Days, hosted by the SmartAgriHubs project on October 14-15, 2024, Plan4all’s contributions were highlighted not only through its direct involvement but also through coordination and support for projects that are at the forefront of digital transformation in rural-urban development:

The Czech Center for Science and Society under Plan4all contributed its expertise in the  PoliRuralPlus project, focusing on integrating urban and rural development strategies through advanced digital tools.

Lesprojekt-služby leading initiatives in both the ALIANCE and COMUNIDAD projects, which leverage big data, AI, and remote sensing for precision farming and rural development.

Asplan Viak played a key role in the development and presentation of Jackdaw, an innovative tool introduced at the event, designed to integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) with geospatial data for enhanced decision-making.

Workshops showcasing advanced tools and results

Plan4all members hosted multiple workshops that drew attention to key digital innovations developed across its projects. These workshops highlighted several tools and methodologies:

Hub4Everybody

The PoliRuralPlus project, in collaboration with ALIANCE , and COMUNIDAD demonstrated the  Hub4Everybody platform. This versatile hub enables the management and presentation of rural-related data, providing a powerful solution for handling complex datasets, various maps, and supporting detailed geospatial analyses. The session included live demonstrations, showcasing how the platform can be applied across various sectors.

Jackdaw: LLM and GeoAI tool

Another exciting workshop introduced Jackdaw, a tool integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) with geospatial data to generate insightful outputs for stakeholders. Developed within the PoliRuralPlus framework, this tool demonstrates the potential of LLMs to transform decision-making processes in agriculture and rural governance. The session featured discussions with experts from ADRA  and BDVA, focusing on the integration of LLMs with spatial data  to generate actionable insights for stakeholders.

Jackdaw takes flight! Stay tuned as we uncover the features of Jackdaw!

AI in Earth monitoring for agriculture

In collaboration with Lesprojekt-služby within the ALIANCE project, experts from Czech Technical University and Czech Center for Science and Society discussed the role of  AI in enhancing Earth monitoring systems. The session showcased two case studies addressing challenges such as cloud cover in satellite imagery and improving local weather forecasts using  AI-driven data fusion techniques.

Plan4all’s role in shaping future innovation

Through its active participation and leadership, Plan4all solidified its position as a key player in the digital transformation of rural-urban communities. The event provided a platform for Plan4all and its partners to collaborate with stakeholders across Europe, driving forward solutions that address the challenges of territorial fragmentation and governance. The showcased tools, such as Jackdaw incorporating LLM models and GeoAI, and  Hub4Everybody, demonstrated the potential to revolutionize rural development and improve decision-making processes.

Plan4all remains committed to fostering innovation and strengthening collaborations through its projects, ensuring that digital tools like those presented at Synergy Days 2024 contribute to a more sustainable and interconnected future.
